In one of the most one-sided matches of the IPL 6, Kings XI Punjab demolished the Pune Warriors and one a comprehensive match.
Batting first Pune Warriors scored only 99 runs losing 9 wickets. In reply Kings XI Punjab scored the required runs in only 12.2 overs.
Adam Gilchrist and Mandeep Singh opened the batting for Punjab and started scoring in a quick fashion.
Gilchrist was dismissed only for 15.
Mandeep Singh scored 31 runs and a meaningful contribution. He hit 4 fours and scored the runs in 26 balls.
Manan Vohra was the find for the team in the very first game as he showed his batting abilities.
He scored 43 runs in 28 balls. Though he did not hit any six, he hit 7 boundaries, 4 of those boundaries came in a row from Ashoke Dinda over.
There was drama towards the end of the chase when Punjab needed one run, David Hussey was caught excellently by Suman.
But unfortunately, it was a no-ball and it was a strange end to the match.
