Saif Ali Khan started his acting career in Bollywood with his debut movie Parampara but he won the Filmfare Award for Male Debut for his movie Aashiq Awara (1993). In the year 1994, Saif Ali Khan gave his first major hit movie Yej Dillagi opposite Kajol and Akshay Kumar. After it, Saif did not stop his acting journey and gave other hit movies like Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Imtihaan (1995), kachche Dhaage (1999), multi-starrer Hum Saath- Saath Hai: We Stand United (1999). Director Farhan Akhtar's film Dil Chahta Hai (2001) was praised by Saif Ali Khan's best performance and honored by Filmfare Award for Best performance for comic role.

Year 2003 was successful for Saif's filmy career with director Nikhil Advani's venture Kal Ho Na Ho opposite Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta. Saif Ali Khan's performance was praised by critics. He won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. He also awarded by the Filmfare Award for Motorola "Moto Look of the Year" for the movie kal Ho Na Ho. Kunal Kohali's drama Hum Tum where he played the role of Karan Kapoor, a young cartoonist and womaniser opposite actress Rani Mukerji. Saif won the Best comedian award at the Filmfare award function and was also received National film Award for Best Actor.

 Multi-starrer 2006 movie Omkara was applauded by critics fo Saif Ali Khan' negative performance and awarded by the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role. In the movie Saif was played the role of "Langda" Tyagi opposite Ajay Devgn,Vivek Obrai and Kareena Kapoor.

Saif Ali Khan turned to producer for his movie Love Aaj Kal (2009). Saif was played the lead role along side Deepika Padukone in it. Love Aaj Kal went on to become a box office success. After it, Saif played terrorist role alongside Kareena Kapoor in the movie Kurbaan. Saif was received the Padma Shri award for the movie Kurbaan which was given by Government of India.
