Amitabh Bachchan started his film career with movie Saat Hindustani, the film was not successfulbut he won first National award as Best Newcomer. In 1971 he was casted in a supporting role withRajsh Khanna playing the lead in Anand and Amitabh Bachchan grabbed Best Supporting Actor awardin Filmfares. After that there was no looking back. He grabbed his First Filmfare Best Actor award formovie Amar Akbar Anthony in 1977, where he was one of the 3 lead actors. His films like Deewar andSholay are listed as Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films.

While he was climbing the stairs of success in 1982 Amitabh Bachchan Met with a major accidentwhile performing stunts shooting the movie Coolie. He suffered splenic rupture and remained criticalin hospital for many months. He almost fought with death and recovered that year after a long periodof recuperation. Amitabh Bachchan recovered and planned to enter Politics in 1984 with the support of family friend and politician Rajiv Gandhi. He fought foe Allahabad’s seat of 8th Lok sabha againstCM Bahuguna and won with good margins. He quitted politics in a very short time of 3 years. Laterin years of 90’s after movie Agneepath his films started flopping on box office. And he quitted films.Later in 1996 he started ABCL (Amitabh Bachchan Corporation). But it could not cope as the films produced by thecompany like Tere Mere Sapne, Mrityudaata flopped and also the company lost millions after becomingthe main sponsor 1996 Miss World beauty pageant, Bangalore. His films continuously failed on the box office.
