How to make Chettinad Vazhakkai Varuval

Ingredients:

Raw Banana- 1

Small onions- 12

Garlic- 1

Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon

Chilli powder- 2 teaspoon

Tomato -1

Mustard seed- 1 Teaspoon

Curry leaves and coriander leaves to garnish

Salt and oil to taste

To Grind:

Grated coconut- 1 cup

Fennel Seeds(Somph)- 1 Teaspoon

Cashew nuts - 5-6

Preparation:

1. Preheat oil in a frying pan and add mustard seeds

2. Add chopped onions. garlic and tomato and mix well

3. Add salt,turmeric powder, chilli powder, little amount of water and allow to boil.

4. In the meanwhile grind grated coconut, somph and cashew nuts to form a paste

5.After 5 minutes add the ground paste and fry till golden brown

6. Garnish with coriander and curry leaves and serve hot.
