Introduction:

Agneepath is the remake of 1990 film with the same name starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role, played by Hrithik Roshan in the remake. Priyanka Chopra is in the female lead. The main villain’s role is played by Sanjay Dutt and one more evil role is played by Rishi Kapoor. Zarina Wahab has played the role of Hrithik Roshan’s mother. The shooting of the film has been done in the Film City in Mumbai and Diu.

Story:

Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) is a resident of a small village Mandwa and his father Dinanath Chauhan has taught him about Agneepath i.e. the path of fire. Vijay is totally shattered down when his principled father is hanged to death by the drug mafia king Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt). Vijay and his pregnant mother (Zareena Wahab) leave the village for Mumbai. Vijay takes an oath to avenge Kancha Cheena. In Mumbai, another drug king Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) gives him shelter and Vijay starts working under him. From then onwards Vijay makes and breaks several relations aiming only towards his revenge. He has an only friend Kaali (Priyanka Chopra) who stands by his side in every situation. After fifteen years he returns to Mandwa to complete his revenge against Kancha Cheena.

What’s Hot:

Debuting director Karan Malhotra has done an excellent job of making the film as an adaptation rather than a remake and creating its own image. Though Sanjay Dutt’s Kancha Cheena shadows most of the film Hrithik Roshan has given viewers a pleasant surprise by marking the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan with his own identity and he is successful in establishing his integrity. Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have done their parts well. Music by Ajay-Atul is rocking; especially item number Chikni Chameli featuring Katrina Kaif in guest appearance is sizzling hot.

What’s Not:

The new Agneepath does have a melodrama but it is acceptable looking at all the other good points.

Metromasti Verdict:

Great performances, excellent taking, rocking music!

Metromasti Rating:

3.5/5
